Ancient Ephesus - The ruins of the Temple of Artemis - House of the Virgin Mary
This special Ephesus tour, gives you the possibilty to make a wonderful exclusive private visit to Ephesus Ancient side in one day.
For this tour we will organise the private transfers and flights.
You will be picked up early in the morning from the hotel you stay.You will take a morning flight from Istanbul to Izmir ( 45 min flight ) and will be welcomed by your guide.It takes about 45 mintues to drive to Ephesus.
On the way your private guide will give you information about the area and historie of Ephesus. In this ancient site you will see Hadrian’s, Trajan’s, Domitian’s Temples, the ancient Roman bath, three main streets of Ephesus called ; Curetes Street,Harbour Street, Marble Street, the Gate of Mihridates and Mazues, The Commercial Agora,where St.Paul used to make tents, the Latrina, the Scolastica Baths, The Trajan and Polio Fountains,the Memnius & Sulla Monument, the Prytaneion, the Odeon ( Buleterion ) , the State Agora, the wonderful Celcus Library and the biggest amphitheater in Turkey,where St.Paul preached.The Hadrian's Gate,the Gymnasium at the Theatre.the Milestones.
After the delicious tradional lunch in a peacefull garden restaurant at a Village next to Ephesus,you will drive to the mountain named Nightingale ,where the House of the Virgin Mary is located in a nature park nearby Ephesus . It is believed to be the last residence of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ. The peaceful site is sacred to both Christians and Muslims and is visited by many tourists and pilgrims. Ephesus and this House was later visited by Popes Paul VI in the year 1967 and John Paul II,( 1979 ) , who confirmed its appropriateness as a place of pilgrimage. On November 29, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI visited and celebrated a mass in the House of the Virgin Mary.
Finally you will be transefered to Izmir aiprort,from where you will take your evening flight to Istanbul.After landing in Istanbul you will be welcomed and transfred to your hotel in Istanbul.
